Applied Woodworking, a startup whose goal is to develop and advance specialized woodworking tools. Their first product is the RoboPlaner – a CNC like machine which is used to plane (make dimensionally flat) wood slabs of varying size. Our project was to help them develop the operational software, prototype the device, and develop the branding and messaging.
We created diagrams and designed a simple hardware interface driven by an Arduino and Raspberry Pi and the developed the software controller to drive the mechanical components.
3D PrototypingWe prototyped the device in Sketch and simulated the hardware/software interfaces in 3D to ensure ease of use and issue free operation.
The goal was to design a logo and brand which would be flexible for use with different products. It had to be woodworking but with a sense of modernism and forward focus.
Every team member signs their name to each project to show they stand by it.
