Complete Unfinished Projects

Unfortunately this is a task that we get asked about frequently. For a variety of reasons you may need help to finish your project.

How much work this is depends on a variety of factors:

• 1) How good your previous developer was
• 2) What state they left it at
• 3) How much work has been done
• 4) Whether they left you any documentation
• 5) What languages and frameworks they used to build it

In some cases it may not be as much work as it seems and in others its just not worth salvaging what they started.

You can engage us in a variety of ways depending on the circumstances.

Ways forward:

• 1) We can assist with changes and figure out how it works and how its setup as we go
• 2) We can do an evaluation called an Analysis & Review where we’ll evaluate what’s been done and determine how well its written and what the best steps to complete it will be.

Takeover from other devs

We takeover projects from other developers all the time. We've figured out the best ways to go about this over our years in business.

Usually the obstacles are:

• 1) Not having the credentials or access necessary
• 2) Not having any documentation
• 3) Not having access to your source code or code repository (like Github)
• 4) Poor coding by or structural issues left by the previous developer

We won't know until you engage us and we take a hard look at what they've given you. Once that is determined we can advise you on the next steps.

We can provide a checklist of things that are needed in order to assist with or execute the transfer.

What we find works best though is engaging us before leaving your current developer so we can advise you on what you need or are missing when you still have the ability to get that information.

App Analysis & Review

One of the first steps when we take over a web or mobile application with the goal of setting it up for long term success is an Analysis & Review engagement.

During this engagement, one of our Consultants will review your application and evaluate its structure, coding, deployment, infrastructure, and also complete any documentation and collect all the credentials in one place.

We'll be able to tell you the deficiencies, issues, and technical problems so these tasks can be incorporated in a roadmap to set things up for the long term.

We can even do an extended engagement where we'll write documentation, centralize all the credentials, set up QA processes, do testing, strengthen the architecture, etc. to set it up for long term management or heavy development.
